“The Brush of an Angel’s Wing”-Book Giveaway

I’m so excited to be teaming up with my friend Lisa over at the Good Grief Cook blog. She has an inspiring and delicious blog which contains life lessons, stories and wonderful recipes. It’s awesome. You must go check it out.

Lisa, who is also a grieving mother, had a wonderful idea and mailed me this book,   “Brush of an Angel’s Wing,” by Charlie W. Shedd.  (Thanks Lisa for giving me the beautiful gift of his words.)

Have you heard of it? Read it?

I had never read any of his books before, however, after reading this one I’m hooked. “Brush of An Angel’s Wing” contains feelings of hope, stories of blessings, and accounts of God’s hand and brushes of angels touching lives in subtle yet obvious ways.

Charlie tells life stories and paints beautiful illustrations of encounters and circumstances that occurred over seven decades of his life, strengthening his faith.

Let me tell you, this was right up my alley. So much so that I ordered myself my own copy to keep! It touched me so deeply on a soulful level and was incredibly uplifting and a wonderful read.

Have you ever looked back on your life and realized that events, timing, miracles, chance encounters, were way more than coincidence? Maybe some have been lessons learned. God has a way of working in our lives and we are only able to recognize the wonder of His work when we stay open to His possibilities.

When I was reading this, I couldn’t help but think of my own life and the events that have occurred during the past several years. All signs point to our Heavenly Father. It’s pretty amazing when you think about it.

“Do you suppose there might be a special group of angels assigned to scatter seeds in our hopelessness? I think there must be.”

“So often in the dark moments-little, big, or catastrophic-you may have sensed it, too. Hidden in the heavy happening is the brush of an angel’s wing come to comfort and encourage; come to show us how we can make something good out of the bad; come to turn the devastation into an eventual victory.” –Charlie Shedd

Such a powerful statement. Seriously, take a minute to ponder the meaning and impact of these words.

So, I am passing this along…For you parents who have lost a child, this one’s for you. For those that wish to leave a comment on the blog or FB page under this post, a random person will be picked Monday and the book will be mailed to you. The only requirement is that when you’re done reading it, you must write your own child’s name on the inside cover and pass it on to another parent who has experienced the loss of a child.

The goal is to reach as many grieving parents as possible, providing hope, comfort and the many blessings of God.  Lets see how far and wide this book can reach.

You won’t want to miss out on this one!
